Nathan Dean

Nathan became passionate about photography after retiring from a distinguished career as a university physics professor, dean, and vice president.

Since then, his fine art photos have been acquired by collectors, published in national media, and shown in over seventy solo, invited, and juried shows, wining multiple awards. He has served the Atlanta Center for Photography as a member of its Board and its Executive Committee, and he has been co-director of the art program at the Buckhead Library.

  • BS in Physics, University of North Carolina; PhD, Cambridge University, England

  • Academic and administrative career (Professor of Physics; Dean of Science, Vice Provost, Vice President) at major universities (Iowa State University, University of Georgia, SUNY Binghamton, and Florida Atlantic University)

  • Studied photography with Jack Wild, Margo Pinkerton, and Arnold Zann
